Cannabis Kitchen: Weed-Infused Honey

When you think of cannabis-infused foods, one of the first things you might think of is butter. Canna-butter is a staple ingredient for cooking and baking edibles, but there is another contender to add to your recipe book. Our friends over at Munchies have created a simple recipe for weed-infused honey that you can add to just about any recipe, as a sweetener to tea or coffee, or just to eat by the spoonful.

Weed-Infused Honey

  • 3.5g cannabis
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil
  • 11 oz honey
  • 1 canning jar

Weigh out 3.5 grams of cannabis. Make sure to grind it up finely, or chop it thoroughly to ensure for maximum surface area. If it's not finely ground, you won't get maximum surface area, and might not get the best extraction.

Next, add the cannabis to your canning jar, and cover with 1/2 cup of coconut oil. Seal up the jar, and drop it in a pot of boiling water for about 2 hours. This will allow the cannabis to infuse in the coconut oil thoroughly.

Once the cannabis has infused, pour the mixture over a cheesecloth placed over a metal strainer. This will separate the liquid from the plant particles.

Once strained, add the cannabis-infused coconut oil to the honey mixture, and blend thoroughly.

Keep your medicated honey mixture in a container of your choosing, and you'll have delicious weed-infused honey at your disposal, ready for the next time you have a sweet tooth craving.
